Yemi Alade confirms that she is making new music with Trey Songz
International collaborations have come to stay on the Nigerian music scene! Very soon, all Nigerian artistes will collaborate with one international artiste or the other in their music. I think this is the next level for the Nigerian Music industry. Nigerian songs and artistes will not barely make it into the American music scene anymore like it used to be some time ago. A good number of the American audience will have their preference to be songs from Nigerian musicians, whether it features an international or not.
This can be proclaimed in confidence, going by the latest achievements of Nigerian artistes with their songs on the international scene. Walt Disney has used Davido’s “Skelewu” and Mc Galaxy’s “Sekem” as part of the soundtrack for a recent movie project over there. Now tell me, Isn’t Nigerian music already gaining preference on the international scene?
Now, our very own Mama Africa has been pictured eating Jollof Rice with Trey Songz in an environment that looked pretty much like a studio. Fans made all they could of the situation, mostly insinuating that the “Johnny” crooner is up to something with the American star. While no one could say for sure what the purpose of their union was, she broke the news on social Media and shared a picture of themselves working on a song. The music, so to speak, is done by two of them for #cokeStudioAfrica. They are in Nairobi Kenya as at the time of writing this, working on the song.
